Model United Nations Executive Board Training Program

On 30th September and 1st October 2024, a training program was held for the Model United Nations (MUN) Executive Board by the Worldview Education. The session was designed to equip students with the essential skills needed to excel as chairpersons in MUN conferences.Throughout the program, participants engaged in activities emphasizing the importance of framing flexible, feasible, and adaptable agendas, allowing future student chairs to respond effectively to the dynamic discussions typical of MUN settings.
Additionally, we explored the concept of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and their integration within MUNs, providing us with tools to measure committee progress and delegate participation. A significant portion of the training focused on creating personalized marking sheets, enabling the objective evaluation of delegates based on their performance.
Understanding the importance of impartiality, we also learned how to maintain a neutral stance, avoiding any bias toward delegates based on personal views or political opinions. This principle is crucial for fostering a fair and equitable MUN environment. Moreover, we explored strategies for guiding the committee in the right direction and effectively handling and resolving unruly situations.
The training offered practical insights and real-life scenarios that challenged us to apply the techniques we learned in a supportive setting. Overall, the Executive Board training program was immensely valuable, enhancing our understanding and capabilities as future leaders in the MUN community. We left with newfound confidence and a commitment to uphold the integrity of the MUN process, ready to make a meaningful impact in our roles.
