Pench National Park Trip
HPS Eagles Spotted at the Pench National Park
In early October, students from The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, embarked on an exhilarating trip to Pench National Park. This adventure provided a unique opportunity to explore wildlife, conservation, and the beauty of nature.
Day 1:
The journey began for 45 eager students, accompanied by five teachers, at the cozy Tuli Veer Bagh Resort nestled in the heart of the forest, where the tone was set by the organisers, Mr. Vaibhav and Mr Nitin. Games and storytelling in the evening helped forge bonds among students and teachers, setting the stage for a wonderful adventure.
Day 2:
Day two unfolded with a magical sunrise nature walk, allowing students to identify insects and plants they had learned about the previous day. This hands-on experience deepened their appreciation for the region’s biodiversity.
A visit to Awarghani village provided a unique cultural insight as students interacted with the Gondi community. Discussions on wildlife management and farming challenges illuminated the resilience and resourcefulness of the villagers, fostering gratitude and respect for diverse ways of life. Evening reflections at the resort allowed everyone to process the day’s experiences and prepare for the next adventure.
Day 3:
The final day of the trip was nothing short of spectacular. An early morning jungle safari thrilled students, with many spotting tigers, leopards, and rare birds like the crested serpent eagle.
Interactive sessions on reptiles and local species enriched the educational aspect of the trip, enhancing their
understanding of the ecosystem. The day concluded with a bonfire, where stories were shared under the stars, creating lasting memories.
The last day was all about a safari that provided opportunities to spot leopards with their cubs, while sightings of jackals and vibrant birdlife delighted everyone. A wildlife quiz wrapped up the trip, testing the knowledge gained and bringing everyone together.
A visit to a pottery village added a unique cultural dimension, where students learned about the craftsmanship involved and had the chance to create their own pottery.
The guidance of escort teachers—Ms Soma ma’am, Ms Nirupa ma’am, Ms Nasreen ma’am, Mr Bharat sir,
and Mr Eswar sir—was instrumental to the trip’s success.
