Boarding
A home away from home.
Jagirdar’s College, established in 1923 was the first residential school catering to the sons of the Jagirdars. They had to stay in the boarding house and were allowed to visit their homes only at the end of each term. In the boarding house they were well groomed by excellent House Masters who had come from Cambridge and Oxford.
The Jagirdar’s College was reorganised in 1951 as the Hyderabad Public School, thus opening its portals to all, irrespective of class or creed.
The school dormitories of East Wing and West Wing accommodates 200 students. The Boarding House is well furnished with an array of facilities – a recreation Room with educational modules, supervised study time, remedial classes, indoor and outdoor games, laundry, infirmary along with inpatient and isolated facility.
The catering team strives to ensure food served to the students is not only nutritious and tasty but also offers them a little taste of home.
The Boarding House has an Administrative House Master and a Matron who looks into the efficient functioning of the boarding house and pastoral care of the students. Four academic house masters are appointed who look into the academic development of the students.
The administration has plans for extension of the existing boarding house to accommodate 10 percent of the school strength in the near future.
