A contingent of 116 NCC Cadets from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state participated in the Republic Day camp at New Delhi from January 1 to 30, 2019. Cadet Shaun Jimmy was adjudged the ‘Best NCC Cadet’ Junior Division (Navy) for 2018 and was presented the Medal & Baton from the Honourable Prime minister Shri. Narendra Modi during PM’s rally.

He describes the training programme as an enriched experience. In course of training, qualities of patriotism, character, dynamism, initiative and understanding that are the very basis of leadership are inculcated.Meeting cadets from 29 states, representing the 17 directorates across our country made him understand the rich cultural and linguistic diversity of India. He had the privilege of interacting with cadets from 11 friendly foreign Nations which gave him a commendable exposure of international bonding.

He along with few of the selected delegates met the Chief of Navy, Army and Airforce. He got opportunity to have brunch with President, Shri Ramnath Kovind and dinner with Raksha Mantri, Smt Nirmala Sitaraman .He also met Vice President Shri. Venkaiah Naidu and Delhi chief minister Shri. Aravind Kejriwal. He was part of a delegation that interacted with the Director General of NCC, Lieutenant General P.P Malhotra, VSM.
