The Hyderabad Public School Begumpet (HPSB) witnessed a series of enriching workshops as a part of their centennial celebrations, bringing students closer to various realms of creativity. The school’s alumni played a pivotal role in these workshops, sharing their expertise and passion with the current generation.
1. Linkology Workshop: Unleashing Creative Confidence
On 25th December 2023, Mr. Harsimran Singh, co-founder of Linkology and HPSB alumnus, conducted an interactive workshop introducing the Livus creativity app. The app, developed in collaboration with professors from the University of Oxford and Kingston University, aims to enhance creative confidence by training the brain to connect seemingly unrelated concepts. Targeted at students above 8 years, Livus encourages divergent and convergent thinking to foster innovation.
2. Music Workshop: Harmonizing Creativity
Conducted on the 25th and 26th of December 2023 by alumnus Master Sidharth Bendi, the music workshop at the Primary School Learning Zone was a melodic journey. Sidharth, a 2016 ISC alumnus and former music captain, shared his experiences and insights into songwriting and composition. The workshop emphasized creativity, song seed development, and overall musical expression. Sidharth’s journey, including collaborations with renowned artists like Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, added a touch of inspiration to the engaging sessions.
3. Photography Workshop: Capturing Moments, Creating Stories
Led by Mr. Kishor Krishnamoorthi, the “Documenting the World: Photography Workshop” provided participants with a transformative experience in the realm of visual storytelling. Regardless of their experience level, attendees explored composition techniques and camera mastery. Kishor’s hands-on approach and interactive sessions opened creative avenues, instilling a lifelong passion for photography.
4. Filmmaking Workshop: Crafting Cinematic Dreams
HPSB alumnus, Mr. Pranav Pingle, a visionary director and founder of Mirage Media, conducted a filmmaking workshop on the 25th and 26th of December 2023. With 28+ films in his portfolio, Pranav shared the fundamental elements of filmmaking, including storytelling, screenplay writing, and visual aesthetics. The workshop focused on essential qualities for filmmakers—Observation, Passion, Persistence, Risk-taking, and Creativity. Participants left with a profound understanding of the cinematic craft, armed to embark on their journey in the world of filmmaking.
These workshops not only showcased the diverse talents of HPSB alumni but also provided students with valuable insights and practical skills. The school continues to be a hub for nurturing creativity, inspiring students to explore their passions and carve their paths in various artistic fields.
