HPS Centenary Summer Camp
The Hyderabad Public School (HPS), Begumpet, marked the successful conclusion of its centenary summer camp with an extravagant exhibition of art & craft, calligraphy, culinary, Abacus & Vedic math, dance and theater. This summer camp, combining fun with learning, served as a month-long feast of knowledge and skills for HPS students.
Renowned actor Mr. Rana Daggubati, a distinguished alumnus of the school, graced the event as the Chief Guest, accompanied by the President of The Hyderabad Public School Society, Mr. Gusti J. Noria and I/C Principal Mrs. Amrita Chandra Raju.
The exhibition showcased an array of talents cultivated by students during the centenary summer camp. Handmade delicacies, a testament to the students’ culinary skills, were elegantly displayed for guests to savor. Alongside these were a series of stunning calligraphy artworks.
The event was further enlivened by live counters for fireless cooking demonstrations, arts and crafts and an enthralling western dance performance, leaving the audience in awe of the students’ flawless dance techniques and boundless energy. A musical skit recounting the classic tale of Tenali Ramakrishna brought rounds of laughter from the audience. In addition to regular sessions, children had the privilege of participating in special sessions conducted by Olympian Alex Anthony and sports psychologist K. Hindola.
Actor Rana Daggubati, appreciating the young talent, remarked, “HPS is a dream school. As an alumnus, watching the students dance and act was profoundly moving and evoked a flood of fond memories. HPS was instrumental in helping me discover my passion for cinema, and I look forward to possibly collaborating with these young talents in the future.”
The President of The Hyderabad Public Society, Mr. Gusti Noria, stated, “All initiatives at The Hyderabad Public School, including the summer camp, are designed to instill an unswerving drive for excellence, a focus on learning, and leadership abilities in students. Our school continually fosters an environment that encourages students’ creative pursuits, nudging them toward becoming the future leaders HPS is known for.”
The closing ceremony was an emotional roller coaster for students and teachers alike, as they bid adieu to a month of unforgettable memories. The students’ stellar performances were lauded by all in attendance, with students dedicating their performances to their mentors who made the summer camp an enriching experience. The camp was a resounding success, with teachers and students immersing themselves in the entirety of the summer camp program, expressing their deep appreciation through heartfelt performances.
