Report on Panel Discussions During Centenary Celebrations
The Hyderabad Public School’s Centenary Celebrations Finale on 25th and 26th December, 2023 marked a significant occasion to showcase a century of educational excellence. Amidst the euphoric atmosphere, Learning Zone- Panel Discussions delved into diverse topics, enhancing the insightful conversations and accentuating the hundred years of academic legacy. The topics of the panel discussions were – Technology- The Death of Libraries, Social Media- Its Impact on Behaviour of Students, Navigating the Maze of Mental Health- Pre-teens & Teens, and How Gamification Can Transform Education. Some of the prominent take-aways from the first panel discussion were that libraries are not dying; they are evolving towards a hybrid future. Libraries are community hubs offering events and interactions to bridge the gap, to avoid creating information barriers.
The discussion during the Second Panel culminated on how social media has revolutionised student communication and interaction, changes in behaviour and mental health of students,impact on academic performance and foreseeing future trends in social media.
The third panel discussion highlighted the sensitive issue of body shaming and its impact on the psyche of teenagers. Another vital topic that was discussed was substance-abuse.
The final round of discussion asserted that Gamification is going to be a game-changer increasing students’ engagement and facilitating collaborative learning with its gaming elements.
The discussions were engaging and enriching for the audience and the combined efforts of the moderators and panellists upheld the purpose of the Panel Discussion.
