Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam
The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet celebrated Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam on the 9th of September to mark the birth anniversary of a famous poet and freedom fighter, Sri Kaloji Narayanarayana Rao.
Various events like classical dance, Telugu poetry recitation, ‘Telangana veerulu’, ‘eka pathrabhinayam’ – mono action, singing, flute recital, ‘Mandalika Veshadharana’, & Annameayya Keerthanalu were organised.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Nandini Sidda Reddy, a teacher, writer, poet, songwriter and social activist from the state of Telangana. In his address, he expressed his happiness in organising such an event in a public school. He urged the students not to forget their mother tongue even though they have acquired proficiency in a foreign language. He stressed the point that no language is inferior or superior. He also cited examples of the honourable Chief Justice of India, Mr. NV Ramana & Dr. Dattatreyudu Nori who though educated in Telugu medium have reached great heights in their respective fields. Things learnt in our mother tongue remain edged in our memory. He also said that the various dialects of Telugu add beauty to the language.
Our Principal (FAC), Mrs. Amrita Chandra Raju in her speech greeted the parents and students on this special occasion. She showered special commendations on the compares for taking the audience through the proceedings of the programme beautifully. She encouraged the students to become multilingual. She insisted that we should be proud to speak our language as “Language strengthens the society and leads to its growth”. She congratulated the staff members of the Department of Telugu for the wonderful programme and for making the event successful under the guidance of HoD, Dr. Phanidevi.B
