IPSC Editorial Conclave held at Scindia Girls’ School, Gwalior

IPSC Students’ Conclave
The IPSC Students’ Conclave, hosted by Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Gwalior from 6 th October to 9 th October, 2024, aimed at fostering journalistic skills and creating an interactive platform for young aspiring student writers and editors from the leading Public schools across the country. HPS, Begumpet was represented by a team of 5 members comprising Aakshya Maheshwari, Akshith Chandra, Anagha Shastry, Anoushka Kukreja and Arjun Rao.
The keynote address was delivered by Ms. Sunetra Choudary, National Political Editor with Hindustan Times. The 3 day Conclave was completely engaging with a line of carefully designed workshops ranging from social media management and student journalism to designing with focus on technical aspects like grid layouts, colour palettes and photography.
Mr. Anup Gupta, Managing Editor, The Hindustan Times Media conducted a workshop on mastering visual storytelling through photography with focus on effective use of design tools and layouts. Social media management workshops highlighted the need for documenting school life online. The teams also got an opportunity to share the best practices of their school publications. Participants received hands-on training in writing impactful editorials. At the end of the conclave each team showcased its learning by designing a newsletter. Our Eagles designed an extraordinary newsletter which won them accolades. This was achieved
in just a record 3 hour time frame.
The carefully curated IPSC Students’ Conclave ensured that the young budding editors had enough fun too. Their activity sessions were generously interspersed with cultural nights, DJ sessions, karaoke and dinner, the SKV Inter-house dance competition, to top it all. The participants visited heritage sites such as the Gwalior Fort and Jai Vilas Palace Museum, gaining cultural insights into the city’s history.The event concluded with students showcasing their newly developed skills through a newsletter and a video presentation encompassing the three-day conclave. The conclave provided students with valuable insights into the real life world of journalism and media. Scindia school played a wonderful host and created lifetime memories for the students.
