Children’s Day (2024)
A Day of Joy and Laughter: Celebrating Children’s Day
Children’s Day is an important day in our school calendar. This year it was a specially curated celebration, filled with dance, music, activities, games, and loads of fun for the children. The teachers conducted a special assembly for students by reversing roles. The prayer for the day, news, amazing facts, short talks were all read out by teachers.
What better day than Children’s Day to celebrate the poetic genius of the 6th grader Sitara Rao Tandra! On this occasion she recited her poem on Father and her other short poems were released by the Principal and presented to the eminent members of the School Executive board.
A slice of ‘the dilemmas and real life issues’ of the present generation was showcased through a humorous duologue by the Cambridge teachers. This duologue presented the flip side to student perspectives and the choices they make and was indeed relatable and thought provoking.
The teachers entertained the students through dance, music and drama. Ms Sumedha, Ms Ruth Soloman, and Ms Amrita Chakravarty set the stage on fire with their musical renditions. Ms Subbulakshmi and her team of graceful dancers enthralled the spectators with their performance. The stage was on fire with the energy and enthusiasm of the teachers. Their performance brought a smile on the children’s faces.
The highlight and special attraction of the day’s celebration was the fashion show by teachers. It left the audience mesmerized. Teachers, dressed as Greek Mythological characters, walked the ramp confidently in outfits designed by students to promote sustainability and waste management.
It was indeed an ode to the creative genius of Mrs. Pratibha Dhal!
This Children’s Day was declared as a ‘Bagless Day’ in sync with the new norm of the Council. This definitely called for special planning by teachers to make the day fun filled and engaging. A plethora of activities were planned for the students, creating memories that would last a lifetime. No event in HPS is complete without the sumptuous food served with love, straight from our own kitchen. Hyderabad and its special biryani go hand in hand on any special occasion and at HPS the age-old tradition continues.
