Grade 11 and 12 Industrial Visit to Coca-Cola Factory
On 14th June, students of Grade 11 and 12 visited the Coca-Cola bottling plant located in Ameenpur, Hyderabad. The purpose of the visit was to give students an opportunity to understand how a large-scale manufacturing unit operates and how various academic concepts are applied in real-world industries.
The visit began with a brief introduction to the history of Coca-Cola and the Ameenpur plant by Mr. Surya, the plant manager. He also shared some interesting facts about the company, including the unexpected detail that a major share of Coca-Cola’s sales in India comes from the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region.
Students were then taken on a guided tour of the plant. They observed the various sections involved in the production process, beginning with the manufacturing of plastic bottles through a process called blow molding. They learned that PET (polyethylene terephthalate) preforms are heated and shaped into bottles using compressed air.
The tour continued along the assembly line, where the bottles were filled, capped, and labeled. Students also witnessed the water purification and carbonation process. The entire process was highly automated and efficient, giving students a clear understanding of how modern manufacturing works.
The session was interactive, with students asking questions about packaging, production, quality control, and sales. The visit connected well with subjects like science, technology, and commerce, helping students understand how different departments work together in an industry.
Overall, it was a meaningful learning experience that helped students explore how everyday products are made and how classroom knowledge can be applied in the real world.
