Senses week

The five senses are the five main tools humans use to perceive the world: sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch. Each of the senses provides essential functions and serves a particular intended purpose and they play an integral part in the emotional and cognitive development of the child.

From 1st December to 10th December, children of PP1 learnt about the five sense organs.

Children were asked to bring four objects or ingredients to smell to provide experiential learning, such as talcum powder/perfume on cotton, a fresh fruit, a flower, vinegar or soya sauce, etc. Children shared their understandings about the sense of smell.

Similarly, children were asked to bring different textured material to understand the sense of touch. Over the two weeks, children got familiarised with all the five senses through various sensory play activities.
