A cricket tournament was organised and hosted by The Manik Public School, Maniknagar, Karnataka, from 10th February to 13th February,2022.
Four teams – Appa Public School Kalaburargi, Sandur Residential School Sanduru, Ballari, The Manik Public School & the Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, participated in the tournament.
HPS scored a whooping victory over Sandur Residential School with 158 runs in the opening match. HPS scored 205/1 and, Sandur Residential School were all out for 47. ‘The Man of the Match’, Mohammad Mosiquddin scored 108 runs and Humza 57.
HPS won against The Manik Public School by 55 runs in the second match. HPS scored 226/1 and MPS 117/7. Hamza who scored 88 runs was declared ‘The Man of the Match’.
In the third match, HPS defeated Appa Public School by 177runs. HPS scored 226/1 and Appa Public School were all out for 49. Hamza scored 120 runs, Anshul 69 and Sahil took 6wkts.
HPS stars were the favourites of the tournament, as they were victorious in the league matches and convincingly the Table Toppers.
HPS emerged winners in the final match against MPS by 45 runs. Their minds were set from the first ball as they batted with great composure to win the game. HPS were 149/6 and MPS 104/9. Hamza who scored 92 runs was declared ‘The Man of the Match’.
The HPS team won the tournament and Hamza was declared ‘The Best Batsmen’ and ‘The Man of the Tournament’.
At the award ceremony, the Chief Patron of Manik Education Society, his holiness Shri Dnyanraj Manik Prabhu Maharaj, spoke about the importance of the event and extended his appreciation to all the participating teams. He handed over the Champions’ Trophy to the winners- the HPS Stars, led by their able captain Master Ramana Chandrashekar of class 12.
