HPS, Begumpet hosted its annual fundraising Food Carnival. The initiative was organised with a view to raise funds for charity. A fun-filled and charity-driven food carnival was organized on 4th February 2023, at Yoga Lawns, The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet by the students and Class teachers of Class 8. In a kind gesture, students of Class 8 came together on Saturday to organise a food carnival for the benefit of the deprived.

The students of Class 8 participated with great vigour and enthusiasm. The event was a great success in terms of a wide variety of mouth-watering delicacies and the creative decoration of stalls from each class. Our young chefs beautifully showcased signature dishes – pancakes, mocktails, milkshakes, fruit custard, waffles, pizzas, nachos, Mexican Burritos, cake pops, Russian salad, sandwiches, Indian savouries bhel puri, pani puri and papadi chat. There were a total of 8 stalls. Parents, Teachers, and students lined up in front of the stalls established as a part of the carnival to tickle their taste buds.

The students took utmost care of hygiene. They sold the food items to their friends, parents, and teachers. The students explained the health benefits and nutritional values that are present in the food items. It was a fine learning experience for the student organizers to acquire entrepreneurial skills. This helped the students to learn teamwork, collaboration, and creativity. While the glorious food was the star of the day, other main ingredients of the carnival included team spirit in its purest form, and the golden opportunity to instill a sense of social responsibility.

The event was inaugurated by the Principal Mr. Madhav Deo Saraswat. The Principal, Mr.Madhav Deo Saraswat and Vice-Principal, Ms.Amritha Chandra Raju visited the stalls and appreciated the efforts put in by the students in making the event a grand success. It was a humanitarian initiative to reach out and make a difference in society.
