Charitable Work at Niloufer Hospital
On 4th January, 2018 10 pupils of 11th class and NCC Cadets of 9th Class participated in a charitable event of the organisation DOBARA – 2nd Innings for a free inter-generational event at Niloufer Hospital, Red Hills. DOBARA is a nonprofit organization, with a mission to improve the experiences of ageing and visualize people of ages. The pupils chaperoned the senior guests of the program to the Auditorium of Niloufer Hospital where historian Mr. Arvind Acharya released a unique film on Princess Niloufer to commemorate her 102nd Birthday. As part of birthday celebrations of Princess Niloufer, he spoke about the history of the hospital, interesting selfless stories of the life of the Princess and why she built the hospital. The students distributed packets of fruits and biscuits, packed by the senior volunteers of Dobara, in the various wards of the hospital. It was truly a learning experience for the pupils on what charity means and how the elderly should be respected.
