Retreats can be the perfect way to re-energize faculty, acquiring new teaching competence and bonding in a less formal setting. The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet organized Professional Retreat for the teaching faculty on 3rd and 4th of June 2019.

The day started off with the first speaker Mrs. Anshu who discussed the labels we create for ourselves and others based on our perception. However we should not hold these labels for a long as our abilities are constantly changing. An insight into human behaviour was well explained through a series of short activities and a skit.

The second speaker Mrs. Indra Varma explained Waldorf education based on the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Anthroposophy. She gave an overview of Waldorf pedagogy which strives to develop pupils’ intellectual, artistic, and practical skills in an integrated and holistic manner. Mrs. Shobha Dixit, a successful entrepreneur shared her views on the power of saying ‘YES’. The day ended on a hilarious note with the standup comedy by Utsav Dixit & Team.

The Second day of the professional retreat was a day much looked forward to the faculty as it was the assessment of their hard work throughout the year. Dr. Skand Bali, Principal addressed the staff on working in tandem and creating a healthy & happy working environment in school with the help of beautiful presentations and videos. Mrs. Amritha Chandra Raju, Vice Principal presented the Result Analysis of Classes 10 and 12. This year saw an astounding increase in the number of students joining the centum club in various subjects. She applauded the staff for such a stupendous result.Lt Col. PLN Sarma,Registrar spoke in depth about the functioning and challenges faced by the Administrative Department.

A training module in digital teaching by ExtraMark was conducted post lunch followed by the various Academic Department Meetings wherein the portions for upcoming examinations and School events were discussed.
