The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, celebrated its 99th Annual Sports Day on the 19th November, 2022 at the Basalath Jah Stadium to showcase the sporting talents of its athletes.
The programme was graced by the Chief Guest Ms. Chandana Deepti, IPS, Dy. Commissioner of Police, North Zone Hyderabad; Members of the HPS Society, the Board of Governors and the Principal Dr. Madhav Deo Saraswat.
The Chief Guest, Ms. Chandana Deepti lit the Meet Flame and handed it over to the School Games Captains Aishwarya Reddy & Raj Lalith Chala. The oath taking ceremony was followed by the hoisting of the flags and declaring the Sports Meet open.
The march past by all the four Houses was led by the Head Boy Ankith Suhas Rao & Head Girl Rhea Abraham was followed by an impressive Showjumping by our school riders.
The most awaited event of the day, the 100 m Senior Boys & Girls, saw – Wahaj Bashir Babu Khan of Taxila House & Samita Reddy of Vijayanagar House being declared as the fastest runners of the school.
Subsequently, the 640 students of Classes 4 & 5 dressed in their Oxford & Cambridge Blues, in homage to our School Flag, left the audience awe-struck with their perfect display of Calisthenics. Class 6 put up a captivating ‘Dancing Flames’ show. The boys of Classes 7 and 8 who moved to Zumba beats for ‘Trip to Light Fantastic’. The final drill display ‘Aerobic Splash’ for the day, was by the girls of Classes 7 & 8 the.
The Principal, Dr. Madhav Deo Saraswat, read out an impressive Sports Report and lauded the achievements of the students.
The Chief Guest in her address commended the dedication, devotion and perseverance shown by the students on the field. She exhorted the students to keep the HPS flag flying high.
The programme concluded with the prize distribution and the Vijayanagar House emerged winners and was awarded the overall championship shield.
