The Hyderabad Public School Begumpet had initiated a career counselling session brought in by IIHM Hyderabad on Career opportunities in the field of Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, and Hospitality for the students of Grades 8,9 and 11 on 1st February 2023.

The keynote speaker, Mr. Manjunath Mural, a renowned Michelin Star Chef from Singapore, was welcomed and facilitated by the Vice Principal, Mrs. Amritha Chandra Raju. Later she introduced him to the audience seated in the Mini Auditorium.

Chef Mural narrated anecdotes from his childhood. Being born into a family of doctors, how he struggled with his undying passion for becoming a Chef, how he was successful in his endeavours and got placed in IIBM, and the entire journey to score a Michelin Star Chef Award for an Indian Restaurant in South East Asia.

Furthermore, he spoke about how Hotel Management has become one of the fastest-growing sectors offering scores of employment opportunities with lucrative packages. There will be scope for International exposure, and pursuing a career in Hotel Management abroad comes with its own perks and benefits.

He also described his challenges in the early stages of his career development. His primary focus was to bring dominion status to Indian Cuisine in the International Market.

The entire one-hour session went on with his experiences and answering questions raised by the students. The chef urged the students to follow their dreams and never compromise on their efforts.

The program ended with a note of appreciation for the renowned guest from the Vice Principal and a vote of thanks by Zaiba.
