Farewell of Ms. Maureen.

We bid a heartfelt farewell to Ms Maureen Rodrigues, a stalwart of The Hyderabad Public School’s Primary School faculty, as she retired from her illustrious service on February 16th, 2024. With an unparalleled dedication spanning 41 years, Ms Maureen leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished for generations to come.
Joining our esteemed institution on July 1st, 1983, at the age of 20, Ms. Maureen swiftly became an indispensable member of the HPS community. Her tenure of 40 years and 8 months as a Primary School teacher distinguishes her for her steadfast commitment and boundless passion.
Beyond her exemplary service in the classroom, Ms Maureen has adorned herself with numerous accolades. As a NCC Air Wing member, she proudly represented our state at the Republic Day Parade in Delhi. Additionally, her passion for aviation saw her achieve the milestone of completing 40 hours of flying a Cessna plane as a glider pilot.
Recognized for her outstanding contributions to education, Ms Maureen was honoured with the Best Teacher Award by the Rotary Club of Hyderabad. Her dedication to nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning has left an indelible mark on the HPS community.
Ms Maureen’s ties to HPS transcend her professional endeavours, as evident by her familial connections to the institution. She is wedded to Mr Harsha Rodrigues, a distinguished alumnus of our school. Their daughter, Ms Poonam, who is also an alumnus, fortifies the family’s deep-rooted relationship with HPS.
As we bid adieu to Ms Maureen, we acknowledge her profound impact on countless lives. Though she may no longer walk our school halls, her teachings will continue to resonate in the hearts and minds of her students. Ms Maureen’s legacy is woven into the very essence of our school, inspiring generations to come.
