Geo Map Quiz ,2024
The Geo Map Society (GEMS) that aims to promote maps and map related activities, conducted Geo Map Quiz,2024 for school students. This is an annual feature and an attempt to promote the importance of maps and navigation in our everyday lives, especially among school students.
The modules were based on Topographical Maps,Satellite Imagery, GPS Space Technology,SDG.
The Preliminary round was conducted in our school on 4th December,2024 by the department of Geography in which 120 teams from Grade 7 to 10 had participated to impart spatial learning at an early stage.
A total of 15 teams from the Junior level (grade 7 & 8 ) and 7 teams from the Senior level (Grade 9 & 10) were selected for the final round. The Final round was scheduled to be held on the 14th of December,2024 at KrishnaKant Park, Yousufguda.
The event was an exhilarating and energetic show of over 150 teams from various schools across Hyderabad. The competition was designed to test the critical thinking and navigational skills of the students.The participants competed against each other in a series of challenges which included a treasure-hunt-based search for landmarks across the Park, an analysis-based study, and a skill test to test the capabilities of the students.
Out of the 150 teams that participated in the finals, Lakshmi Boosa and Shaurya Bolla of 9E won the third place in the Senior category and Nitya Kiron of 7J and Veda Varshita of 7B won the first place in the Junior Category.
The Hyderabad Public School and the teacher coordinators were also felicitated by the GeoMap Society.
