International English Language Day Celebrations

On 23rd April 2025, on the occasion of International English Language Day, the students of Foundational Years were involved in a delightful and enriching session centred around the tales of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The story of the Rainbow Fish.

This initiative was designed to highlight the beauty of linguistic diversity while fostering early literacy and comprehension skills among our young learners.

The session commenced with an engaging storytelling, narrated in an expressive and age- appropriate manner. The story, with its rhythmic repetition and vivid characters, proved to be an excellent medium for introducing fundamental narrative elements to the children, including sequence, setting, and character differentiation.

Following the storytelling, the students enthusiastically participated in a series of hands-on activities inspired by the story. These included colouring, matching exercises, and creative art tasks etc. Each activity was carefully designed to reinforce the story’s vocabulary, encourage verbal expression, and promote collaborative learning.

The celebration of International English Language Day through these classic tales provided a dual advantage—it cultivated an appreciation for storytelling as a universal cultural tool and simultaneously enhanced language acquisition in a joyful and interactive environment. The children displayed remarkable enthusiasm, and their active involvement was a testament to the success of the initiative.

Such immersive experiences underscore the importance of integrating language development with creativity and play in the early years. The celebration of International English Language Day was indeed a meaningful and memorable experience for both learners and educators alike.
