International Yoga day

The academic year 2021-2022 had begun with the celebration of the 7th International Day of Yoga with the theme – ‘Yoga the science of well-being’
The school staff along with the Principal and Vice-principal joined the celebration on the online Zoom platform at 6:15 am. The programme started with a message from our Vice-principal, Mrs. Amrita Chandra Raju. Various asanas including pranayama were performed. Mrs. Juhi Hydar and Mrs. Santhoshini, our yoga teachers, explained their importance and benefits. This programme ended with Yoga Nidra or guided meditation to completely relax the body and mind.
The school organised a special online assembly to celebrate the International Day of Yoga. The day was observed on G-meet along with Class and Associate teachers. Prayer, speech, word, and thought for the day were all related to Yoga. A video with students from the primary, middle and senior school performing yoga was shown. The video was divided into 4 segments- eye, spine, pulmonary and breathing practices. This beautifully compiled video had Ashrita and Mariyam Abbas as comperes. Students practiced the asanas and movements parallelly with the video.
The emphasis was on the health issues faced during virtual classes and the practices which have to be done during these pandemic
