INVESTITURE CEREMONY AT THE HYDERABAD PUBLIC SCHOOL, BEGUMPET
Hyderabad, 29th June 2024
The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, renowned for its progressive spirit and century-long legacy, proudly hosted its Investiture Ceremony on Friday, 29th June 2024, at 9:00 AM on its picturesque campus.
The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Air Vice Marshal Prashant Sharad Wadodkar, Commandant of the College of Air Warfare, as the Chief Guest. Ms. Sita Pallacholla, a distinguished alumnus of HPS (B) and current CEO of WE HUB, served as the Guest of Honour. The occasion was also attended by Mr. Gusti J Noria, President of the HPS ,Society and member of the Board of Governors (BOG), Mr. Raghuram Reddy, Vice Chairman of the BOG, and along with other respected members of the HPS Society and the Board of Governors.
The Chief Guest, Air Vice Marshal Prashant Sharad Wadodkar, inspected an impressive parade led by The Nishan Toli bearing the School Flag and the flags of the four colour houses: Nagarjuna, Nalanda, Taxila, and Vijayanagar. This was closely followed by N.C.C. Cadets from the three wings of the armed forces: the Army, both boys and girls, the Navy, and the Air Force. The Chief Guest unfurled the School Flag while the School Brass Band played the School song.
The Parade Commander, Third Officer Sirisha Bandari, led the event with precision and grace. Ms. Saanvi Sagi, the Head Girl Designate, expressed her excitement about being part of the school’s legacy, urging her peers to pursue their dreams while cherishing the memories created at HPS. She quoted Billy Joel’s philosophy, ‘Hit a pause and smell the roses,’ encouraging her friends to savor their school life.
Head Boy Designate, Master Sarthak Lamba, reminisced about his time at school, emphasizing on the holistic learning experience that extends beyond the classroom. He spoke passionately about identifying with The Eagle, the school emblem, and how the school’s ethos fosters liberty, courage, and leadership in every student.
Dr. Skand Bali, the Principal, presented the School Annual Report, celebrating the students’ multifarious achievements in both academic and co-curricular fields for the year 2023-24.
The highlight of the ceremony was the investiture of the Prefectorial Board for 2024-25 by the Chief Guest, Air Vice Marshal Prashant Sharad Wadodkar. In his address, he congratulated the newly invested young leaders and commended the three wings of the NCC for their commendable parade. He emphasized that education is not just about earning degrees but about developing leadership qualities and making impactful, world-changing contributions. He urged the students to embrace adaptability in this rapidly changing world, step out of their comfort zones, appreciate diversity, and promote inclusivity. His inspiring words encouraged the young eaglets to join the Indian Air Force and ‘touch the sky with glory.’
The event concluded with great jubilation as students formed a corridor, cheering for the Chief Guest and other dignitaries, celebrating a memorable and inspiring Investiture Ceremony.
