Kargil Diwas
The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas on 25th July 2019 to honour the Kargil War Heroes, who had laid down their lives for the country. The Chief Guest for the celebration was Lt General Rajeev Chopra, Director General NCC, an alumnus of National Defence Academy Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.
The Chief Guest was received by the ANOs of all three wings of NCC, pilots and horseback riders. He paid floral tributes to the martyrs. The School choir perfectly blended patriotism with melody. In her speech, Bhargavi spoke about the contribution of the Armed Forces.
The Chief Guest addressed NCC cadets and students of grades 11 & 12. He said to ‘remember’ our martyrs, by revisiting their sacrifices, ‘rejoice’ by celebrating the victory in Kargil and ‘renew’ our resolve to safeguard the honour of the tricolour,”The other notable delegates present were Air Commodore NN Reddy, Deputy Director-General, NCC AP and Telangana State, Group Commander Col. N Ramalingam and Col Rajesh K Rao, CO 7 Telangana Girls Battalion .The Chief Guest visited the NCC office and planted a sapling to commemorate the courage and determination of the Kargil War Heroes.
