The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, organized its third Professional Retreat 2025, during the 4th to 6th of June, gathering its dynamic teaching community in a lively spirit of learning, reflection, and innovation. SparkED – Igniting Change, Inspiring Minds was the theme of this year’s retreat that offered a richly stimulating platform for the teachers to reflect on their practice, share ideas, and recommit to the common cause of nurturing minds and building futures.
The retreat started off with fiery opening addresses that reminded the attendees of the real goal of education—not the simplistic transfer of facts, but the kindling of fire. With inspiring addresses by Principal Dr. Skand Bali and Vice Principal Ms. Amritha Chandra Raju, the atmosphere was set for a path of development, cooperation, and significant change. Reaffirming the value of open-mindedness, reflection, and collaborative learning, teachers were encouraged to open themselves up to new ideas and become agents for change.
Throughout the three days, topics ranged from inclusive practices in neurodiverse classrooms to positive behaviour support, from the skills of mixing humour with discipline to compassionate leadership. Renowned speakers like Mr. Pramod Sharma, Ms. Jyotsna Brar, Lt. Gen. Surendra Kulkarni, Dr. Pathma Naidu, Dr. Sarvesh Naidu, and Mr. R.P. Devgan, to name a few, impressed the audience with their views, day-to-day strategies, and genuine experiences that spoke of the actual woes and victory of teaching.
The retreat also included detailed discussions on pedagogical philosophy, trends in academic performance, and teacher involvement in student leadership programs. A comprehensive ICSE & ISC 2025 Result Analysis was presented by Dr. Neeta Bisht, celebrating the academic achievements of our students while highlighting areas for continued growth. World Environment Day was marked by a meaningful moment of introspection, encouraging teachers to reflect on the kind of learning environments they cultivate—not just within the classroom, but across the entire school culture.
Throughout the event, the focus was on igniting real change—inside classrooms, between teachers, and inside students’ lives. Sessions cultivated active engagement, profound questioning, and collective investigation, leaving room for professional growth and personal growth. At each speaker, the notion that teachers are the real sparks of inspiration—formative not just of curriculum but of character—was stressed emphatically.
When the retreat came to an end, teachers departed with a renewed purpose and a collective vision—to go back to their classrooms not as mere instructors, but as agents of change. The retreat might have ended, but its spillover is where the beginning of a very promising new chapter in the continuous quest for excellence in HPS Begumpet is witnessed.
