Hyderabad Public School observed Republic Day with full fervour
Nation-building was the core message for the students
Hyderabad, 26 January 2023: The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet celebrated the 74th Republic Day in its Centenary year. It is rare that one gets to celebrate such a feat where the institution predates the country becoming a republic.
In keeping with the grandeur of the occasion, the Chief Guest for the day was Air Marshal Chandrashekharan Hari Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, VM, a distinguished soldier whose contributions in the Kargil war and Balakot are exemplary.
The Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by Dr. MADHAV DEO SARASWAT, Principal, The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet along with the members of the BOG and presented with a bouquet. He was accompanied by his gracious lady Ms Ashalatha. The NCC cadets gave the Chief Guest a Guard Command.
The National flag was unfurled by the Chief Guest amidst the melodious rendering of the tune of the National Anthem.
Preprimary students began the cultural programme of the day by paying tribute to the armed forces through their beautiful performance titled- “A salute to our troops.” The 43 upper kindergarten students displayed the different salutes of the tri-services dressed in the vibrant colours of the armed forces. This was followed by a medley of patriotic songs rendered by the school choir consisting of 100 children.
The major highlight was the Bangalore Little Theatre that put up an interactive theatre experience for the audience on the play ‘Robi’s Garden’.
The school’s Headgirl, Ms. Rhea Abraham gave a powerful speech on the significance of this day.
Then it was time for 146 students of Class 1 to enthrall everyone with their presentation- Ek Sur Ek Taal based on the original song ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’. This performance instilled a sense of pride and highlighted India’s different linguistic communities and diverse cultures.
Dr. Madhav Deo Saraswat, Principal, The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet in his speech highlighted the importance of the youth in nation building. He introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering.
The Chief Guest in his speech regaled everyone with his experiences and urged the youth to work towards making this country even better.
