Solar Power Installation

The Hyderabad Public School forays into solar power, a big leap for the school but a small step towards saving the earth’s green carpet.  This is an initiative by the school to not only teach but also practice about saving the rampant climatic disturbances and fight climate change all over the world.

Freyr Energy installed a 120kW solar plant at the school on February 10th2020, Mr. R. Surender Reddy,  Former President, The Hyderabad Public Schools Society, Chairman of The Hyderabad Race Club, and former MP, inaugurated the solar plant. The 120kW rooftop solar plant, designed and installed by Freyr Energy, a Hyderabad based solar rooftop company, is expected to generate 1,75,000 units of power every year. The solar plant is expected to provide 40-50% of the school’s power requirement and save more than Rs. 1, 00,000 in electricity bills every year. Further, the school will eliminate 171 tons of greenhouse emissions annually and plant an equivalent of 1,950 trees annually.
