PREFECTS LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet
The STRETCH Leadership Program offered student prefects a unique opportunity to explore the wilderness and engage in deep self-reflection through nature-based learning. A total of 62 students—26 from the IGCSE and 36 from the ICSE curriculum—participated in the program. They were accompanied by their dedicated escort teachers:
IGCSE: Ms. Nasreen Khan and Ms. Viveka Vardhini
ICSE: Ms. Swapna, Ms. Sumeet Kaur, Mr. Chetan, and Mr. Cyril.
The 3-day outdoor program featured activities such as:
Golden Boulder Hiking & Rappelling – conquering a 70-ft rock after trekking through shrub forests
Raft Building – developing problem-solving and crisis management in survival simulations
Biodiversity Walk – gaining insights into ecological systems and species distribution
Reflections – The Leader in You – connecting personal growth with experiences in nature
The program aimed to build key leadership traits like facing challenges, composure, self-awareness, decision-making, and team camaraderie.
Activities also included local sports and team simulations, fostering initiative and communication. Stretch wasn’t just an adventure—it was a journey toward becoming compassionate and capable leaders.
